Doodles are my primary form of mark-making, consisting of personalized iconography and visual regurgitations of the things going on in my brain. Doodling allowed me to create a world of my own, where I am not only interpreting my experience of the things around me but creating a new space, where there were no restrictions or quantifications on what was or how I was creating something.
The doodles are pulled from the depths of my subconscious and translated to the margins of my notebook with imagery consisting of abstract faces, various sized texts, designs & scribbles, letters & numbers and so much more. Seeking to activate my doodles I accumulated them and used them together in a collaging process.
Doodling has helped me communicate in all the ways I was seeking to as an artist. The relationship I have created with doodling has allowed me to relieve the pressures and standards I felt like as a creator. Doodling allowed me to step back from the pressure and standards I felt and led me to just create freely. And once the flood gates were open, the possibilities of doodling potentials I found within it, became endless.
